Want to Know How Your Brand Performs Beyond This Page? [a17]

Your automated analysis is complete. A page-level score cannot show which competitors appear when buyers ask AI systems for recommendations, which sources influence those answers or why your business may be missing from important AI-search results.

If you want that broader commercial baseline before a full strategy engagement, start with my AI Search Visibility Snapshot. It tests buyer prompts, competitor visibility and citation sources, with focused diagnostic engagements starting at $1,500.

The Professional AI Search Visibility & Strategy Assessment is the deeper option and turns those findings into a more extensive prioritized strategy for your business. Professional assessments start at $5,500 and cover research, diagnosis and strategic direction; hands-on implementation is not included in the assessment scope. For cross-platform consulting and implementation, see my AI SEO services. See SEO, AEO & AI SEO pricing and engagement options for the broader service ladder.

This is not an automated report, a generic SEO audit or a monthly optimization package. I personally investigate how your business and competitors are represented across AI-driven search experiences and connect those findings back to your website, content, entities, authority and traditional SEO foundation.

Why Eric Strate?

SEO Experience Since 2012. Focused on the Next Era of Search. [a18]

I have worked in SEO since 2012, with experience spanning technical SEO, local search, competitive analysis and automotive search. My current work focuses on Answer Engine Optimization, Generative Engine Optimization and the changing relationship between traditional search and AI-driven discovery.

I am also the creator of the Web Answer Retrieval Protocol (WARP), an experimental publishing architecture designed to make concise publisher-authored answers uniquely addressable while preserving the supporting information and provenance needed to evaluate them.

The Free AEO Checker, WARP and my ongoing AI-search testing are part of that work. The professional assessment is where I apply that experience directly to your business.

Assessment Scope and Implementation

Standard scope: one business, one primary website and one primary market. Large websites, multiple brands, multiple countries or unusually complex competitive environments may require a custom scope.

This is a research, diagnosis and strategy engagement. Hands-on website implementation is not included in the Professional Assessment. I identify what matters, explain why it matters and provide a prioritized roadmap your existing team, agency, developer or website vendor can execute.

Two different $5,500 starting engagements: the Professional AI Search Visibility & Strategy Assessment is the broader diagnosis-and-roadmap engagement. My ChatGPT SEO Strategy & Optimization service is focused specifically on ChatGPT buyer visibility and can include scoped hands-on optimization where platform access and project scope permit.

Both currently start at $5,500, but they are not interchangeable packages. Final scope is confirmed before work begins.

What It Checks

What Does the Free AEO Checker Analyze?

The checker is designed around the parts of a webpage a publisher can actually improve. It does not claim access to proprietary Google, ChatGPT or other AI ranking systems. For ongoing measurement rather than a one-page diagnostic, see this AI visibility monitoring software example.

Search Foundation

Core page signals such as titles, descriptions, H1 structure, canonicalization, indexability, language, mobile viewport and page substance.

Entity Clarity

How clearly the page identifies its person, organization, service, product or primary subject across visible content and structured data.

Answer Readiness

Whether question-led sections contain direct, self-contained answers with enough surrounding context to remain useful.

Evidence & Trust

Signals such as attribution, first-hand experience, source links, dates when relevant, About and Contact pathways, and support for factual claims.

Structured Data

JSON-LD validity, entity schema, duplicate identifiers, semantic HTML and consistency between machine-readable and visible content.

Citation Readiness

Stable anchors, answer passages, source support, lists and tables, original evidence signals and clear section boundaries.

[a14]
Answer [a14]

Yes. The Free AEO Checker also functions as a page-level GEO checker and AI search audit because AEO, GEO and AI search optimization overlap around discoverability, entity understanding, useful answers, evidence and retrieval structure.

Related answers
[f1]Does the checker create a separate score for every AI-search acronym?

No. AEO, GEO and AI search readiness share the same page-level diagnostic. The tool does not create a separate score just to match each acronym.

Evidence ↗

Fan-Out Intent

Is This Also a Free GEO Checker and AI Search Audit?

Yes, with an important qualification. Answer Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization describe overlapping work around search and AI-assisted discovery. This free AEO tool therefore evaluates many of the same page-level factors someone may be looking for when searching for a GEO checker, AI search readiness checker, AEO audit tool or generative search optimization tool.

I do not create separate scores simply to match every acronym. The same page still needs a strong technical foundation, useful information, clear entities and content that can be retrieved without losing important context.

[a15]
Answer [a15]

The checker evaluates page-level factors relevant to Google AI Overview readiness, but it cannot predict or guarantee inclusion because third-party tools do not have access to Google’s internal ranking or AI Overview selection systems.

Related answers
[f1]Can the checker predict a Google AI Overview placement?

No. It reviews observable search-readiness factors and cannot measure an internal Google AI Overview score or guarantee inclusion.

Evidence ↗
[f2]Does Google require special AI markup, llms.txt or a fixed chunk size?

No. Google’s guidance says special AI files or markup and fixed content chunking are unnecessary for its generative search features. The checker focuses on broadly applicable page signals.

Evidence ↗

Google AI Overviews

Does the AEO Checker Test Google AI Overview Readiness?

It evaluates factors that can matter to a page’s overall search readiness, including technical accessibility, useful content, entities, answer structure and supporting evidence. It does not claim to measure an internal Google AI Overview score.

Google’s current guidance matters here. Google states that its generative AI Search features remain rooted in core Search ranking and quality systems. Google also cautions that third-party tools do not have access to its internal ranking or AI systems.

That is why this tool treats AEO and GEO as extensions of good search practice rather than rewarding unsupported tactics such as special AI-only markup, mandatory llms.txt files or arbitrary content chunk sizes.

Read Google Search Central’s generative AI optimization guidance.

[a16]
Answer [a16]

The AEO Readiness Score is a proprietary 0–100 page-level assessment combining six categories. It measures observable webpage signals, not a hidden score used by Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity or another answer engine.

Related answers
[f1]Are the results repeatable?

The same HTML is evaluated against the same internal framework, making before-and-after comparisons more useful.

Evidence ↗
[f2]Does page type affect the analysis?

A homepage, service page and article do not need identical signals, so the analysis accounts for page context.

Evidence ↗
[f3]Does the score measure actual AI mentions or citations?

The score cannot measure off-page authority, real AI citations, prompt demand, private analytics or a search engine’s internal decisions.

Scoring

What Is an AEO Readiness Score?

A single number is useful only when its limits are clear. The score summarizes observable page-level signals into a consistent diagnostic so you can compare stronger and weaker pages without pretending the score came from an AI platform itself.

01

Repeatable

The same HTML is evaluated against the same internal framework, making before-and-after comparisons more useful.

02

Page-Type Aware

A homepage, service page and article do not need identical signals, so the analysis accounts for page context.

03

Deliberately Limited

The score cannot measure off-page authority, real AI citations, prompt demand, private analytics or a search engine’s internal decisions.

[a17]
Answer [a17]

The Free AEO Checker evaluates observable signals on one webpage. Eric Strate’s Professional AI Search Visibility & Strategy Assessment investigates the larger competitive environment, including buyer-intent AI searches, brand visibility, competitors, influential sources and the strategic changes most worth pursuing.

Related answers
[f1]Why does a professional assessment require more than a page score?

It adds buyer-intent prompt testing, competitive investigation, citation and source analysis, website review and professional interpretation beyond the submitted webpage.

Evidence ↗
[f2]Does the Professional Assessment include website implementation?

No. The Professional Assessment provides diagnosis and strategy. The separate ChatGPT SEO Strategy & Optimization service can include scoped optimization and implementation.

Evidence ↗
[f3]Is there a smaller paid visibility diagnostic?

Yes. Focused AI Search Visibility Snapshot engagements start at $1,500 and examine buyer prompts, competitors and citation sources. The deeper Professional Assessment starts at $5,500.

Evidence ↗

Free Checker vs. Professional Assessment

What Is the Difference Between the Free Checker and a Professional Assessment?

The free checker answers a narrow but useful question:

How well does this individual webpage communicate the signals evaluated by the AEO Readiness framework?

The professional assessment investigates a different question:

How is your business positioned within AI-driven search, who is competing for that visibility and what should your organization do about it?

That requires research beyond the submitted webpage, including buyer-intent prompt testing, competitive investigation, citation and source analysis, website review and professional interpretation.

The free checker remains useful as a diagnostic tool. The professional assessment is designed for businesses that need a strategic decision-making framework rather than another automated score.

The Professional Assessment is diagnosis and strategy, not hands-on implementation. If the immediate goal is ChatGPT-specific research plus scoped optimization and implementation, see my ChatGPT SEO Strategy & Optimization service.

For a smaller commercial visibility baseline, the AI Search Visibility Snapshot tests buyer prompts, competitor visibility and citation sources, with focused diagnostic engagements starting at $1,500. The Professional AI Search Visibility & Strategy Assessment is the deeper research and roadmap option, starting at $5,500.

Answer [a18]

The Free AEO Checker was built by Eric Strate, an SEO and AI-search strategist whose search experience dates to 2012 and who created the Web Answer Retrieval Protocol (WARP).

[f1]What search experience informs the checker?

Eric Strate has worked in SEO since 2012. His work combines technical SEO, search intent, entity clarity, AI-search testing and publishing experiments such as WARP.

Evidence ↗
[f2]Why distinguish observable page issues from AI platform decisions?

A useful audit can identify observable webpage problems. It should keep those findings separate from claims about private ranking or AI selection decisions that a third-party tool cannot verify.

Built by a Search Practitioner

Who Built the Free AEO Checker?

The tool was built by Eric Strate, an SEO and AI-search strategist with search experience dating to 2012. My work combines technical SEO, search intent, entity clarity, AI-search testing and publishing experiments such as WARP rather than treating AEO as a replacement for traditional search fundamentals.

That distinction is important because a useful AEO audit should separate observable webpage problems from claims that no third-party tool can verify.

[a19]
Answer [a19]

This page uses WARP, Eric Strate’s experimental publishing architecture linking stable publisher-authored answers to optional nested follow-up questions and specific visible evidence passages, with matching semantic markup and a separate relationship map.

Related answers
[f1]How do the answer, follow-up and evidence links work?

Open an A citation for the canonical answer, expand an F question for a narrower answer, then use its Evidence link to reach the supporting passage in the page body.

Evidence ↗
[f2]Does using WARP increase this checker’s score?

No. The Free AEO Checker does not evaluate, reward or recommend WARP as part of its score. This page uses WARP as an optional publishing experiment.

Evidence ↗
[f3]Does WARP guarantee AI retrieval, citations or rankings?

No. WARP is an independent experimental proposal, not a Google ranking factor, Schema.org standard or industry requirement. Retrieval and citation gains require separate evidence.

Evidence ↗

WARP

A Live Answer Architecture Experiment

This page implements the Web Answer Retrieval Protocol (WARP). Each canonical answer has a stable A identifier. Optional F follow-up questions sit inside that answer’s citation panel and link to visible, uniquely addressable E evidence passages. The HTML, standard JSON-LD and separate WARP relationship map describe the same published content.

WARP is optional and remains experimental. The Free AEO Checker does not evaluate, reward or recommend WARP as part of its audit score. This page uses WARP only as a live publishing experiment while the checker evaluates broadly applicable page-level signals.

WARP is an independent experimental proposal. It is not a Google ranking factor, a Schema.org standard or an industry-adopted requirement, and it does not guarantee ranking, retrieval or citation.
